Hannu Syrjälä – Chairman
Hannu Syrjälä is CEO and Partner of Berggren Group, one of the leading IP law firms in Scandinavia.
Hannu has over twenty years of experience in different senior executive roles, including Head of Life Support Solutions at GE Healthcare. He was also CEO and president of Tieto, one of the largest IT service providers in Europe.
Currently, Hannu is a member of the Board of Directors in several tech start-up and private equity-owned companies.
Aki Prihti – CFO and Board Member
Aki Prihti serves as a part-time CFO and is a board member of Medtentia.
He has almost 20 years’ experience of life science growth companies, both in operational and board roles.
Aki is one of the founders of Inveni Capital, a venture capital firm specialising in life sciences. He is also the CEO of Aplagon, a pharmaceutical company focused on developing proprietary, vascular injury targeting and locally acting, potent antithrombotic products known as APACs.
Aki also serves as a board member of Herantis Pharma Oyj and Aranda Pharma Oy.
Thomas Görling – Board Member
Since 1998, Thomas Görling has worked at Industrifonden, where he is an Investment Manager working with venture investments and the development of small and medium sized companies.
Thomas has a professional background in engineering, international sales & marketing, as well as general management.
Previously, over a 15 year period, he was engaged in CEO roles at subsidiaries of Esselte and Leica (now Hexagon) as well as a Mercado Medic AB, a medtech company.
He holds a Master of Science from KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and studied business economics at Stockholm University.
Harri Sundvik - Board Member
Harri Sundvik has been a Medtentia Board member since 2018. Harri has 28 years’ experience working in international investment banking, notably as Managing Director at JP Morgan and Vice-Chairman of Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He has held multiple senior corporate finance roles advising leading Nordic companies in their strategic moves, including several EUR multi-billion cross border transactions. Harri also has extensive experience working on many landmark equity and debt capital transactions.
Harri has an MBA from Cass Business School in London, UK and a Master of Laws degree from Helsinki University, Finland. He is a Registered Representative of the London Stock Exchange. Harri is currently advising a number of Nordic technology companies on their strategy and capital structure development, with a particular focus on advanced sustainable technologies.
