Prof. Christian Spaulding

MD, PhD, FACC, FESC

Christian Spaulding, MD, PhD is Professor of Cardiology at Paris Descartes University, Paris, France.

 

Professor Spaulding attended Medical School in Paris. After a specialization in general cardiology, he trained in interventional cardiology at the Heart Institute in Montreal, Canada, and, the Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France. He returned to Paris to join the cardiology department at Cochin Hospital, Paris Descartes University, as head of the interventional cardiology department.

 

In 2010, he joined Cordis, Johnson and Johnson, as Vice President, Medical Affairs worldwide.

 

In January 2012, he accepted the position of chief, interventional cardiology at the European Hospital Georges Pompidou, Paris Descartes University, and became head of its multi-disciplinary interventional department in October 2016. In this position, Christian Spaulding supervises a large group of physicians from different disciplines (interventional cardiologists, electro-physiologists, interventional radiologists, cardiac surgeons) working together across eight catheterization laboratories. He is in charge of developing the structural heart program at the European Hospital Georges Pompidou.

 

He is a member of the Cardiac Arrest Expert Research Center at the PARCC research institute in Paris. He has published over 290 papers in peer reviewed journals.

His unique background allows him to grasp not only the value of a device for the patient but also the difficult pathway from the experimental phase to the clinical launch of the product.
